The Haven (haiku)

Unable to count

The people we lose during

This time of sorrow

Forever leaving

An etched mark in history

A mark in our lives

Locked up in our homes

Waiting for this to surpass

Feels like eternity

Daydreaming of birds

Flying over barren streets

The freedom they feel

All the bitterness

Yet a lesson i have learned

Of this empty world

Funny how you can

Really only learn something

Once you have lost it

Through all this chaos

I’ve finally found some peace

Despite the dark world

I have found a place,

Away from all the chaos,

Where my heart now lies.
